Communicative Skills

In this course LSEC 101 we have learned several skills which improve us.  I am going to explain what did I improve and what is the future imagine.

There is several skills improvement in this course. The first improvement is reading, for example when we searching for information in the internet we have to read many information and we have to choose the right one. Another improvement is writing, for example after we go the information we have to write the information that we need in the presentation. One more improvement is speaking, for example when we do presentation our grammar speech will get better. In the future these skills will help us in the higher study, for example if I became a teacher in the college and also in the career job such as chemical engineering.  The biggest challenge was when I standing and started speak near many people my voice started low and hesitating even I have good information. Also when I searching for information there is many website. Another challenge is question, for example when someone asked me a question and I have the answer, but I can’t explain to him. Further challenge is silled, because it took more time to prepare. To address these challenges in the future I must practice a lot to control my feared and hesitation. Also I have to ask someone proficient in the power point to help me in the slied. Finally, I should prepare for me safe a question and give to the student.

Formal Presentation

In this class LSEC 101 we have learned several experiences and we used difference equipment. I am going to explain what did I learn and use in this time.

Our presentation was about Flaring Environment. The first experiences was to divided the work and to  increase the concentration of the subject  , for example Khalid was speak about the flaring introduction, I spoke about the flaring problems whereas Abdurrahman spoke about solution and Yasser spoke about conclusion. The second experiences was using internet to find the right information that will help as in the presentation. Also our work experiences in the factories. What’s more in this presentation we improved the power point skills such as add more slides, wonderful background and pictures which related to the subject, also adding words in the alvpetk order with different kind of movement.  We practiced many time before we used our camera to production presentation which is new skills for as. Finally; adding references to the presentation to give more details.     

In this presentation my performance was total different then the last presentation. Firstly I prepared my information in order of the presentation. Secondly I improved my eye contact; also my speech was good in this presentation. On the other hand I was reading from the screen because some information was in the picture such as line graph. Another improvement was more time to speak, for example before was 3 to 5 minute now 5 to 7 minute.

Semi-Formal Presentation

On Sunday morning we presented our distillation process. My part was about using distilling water in the laboratory. I am going to evaluate my presentation part.

The fist step is preparation for the presentation. For example I asked the lab chemist for information about using distilled water in the laboratory and he gave me some information, but it was not enough for the presentation. I used the internet to get more information and it was helpful, because it gave me the main idea. Our 3D video was very good, because the 3D video was explained the subject with practical work which made the presentation more interesting and I think including the 3D video in the power point will show the new generation of power point. The second step is performance; I was hesitating, because I had forgotten a lot of information. What is more I was speaking too fast and some of my grammar was not right, but I controlled my speech and I tried to make my grammar accurate. The third step is improvement; my slide was good but it needed some pictures and sounds to be more interesting. Furthermore I answered all the questions and I did good eye contact with smiles and a serious face. Another good thing was I didn’t read from the screen. My plan for the future is to make a very good presentation without any mistakes and with good prepared material such as more slides, including pictures and sounds, 3D video, using equipment and information.

Meeting

I was one of the team members. First of all I prepared my idea. After that we held several times, practice meetings. The first practice meeting was not good. The next time was much better than before. The third practice between us was very good. The first practice meeting with teacher was ok, but it had same mistake in the agenda. The finally meeting was perfect. I had time to speak and to submit my ideas about what we should do and how we could divide the jobs. I felt very comfortable and I am happy to share ideas with my team members. My team members thought that my idea was an excellent idea and they assessed it. Their feedback helped me to submit extra ideas. I had good communications with my team members and gave them time to submit their ideas. In the future we will take more time and there will be more idea.
